Harika is a highly skilled senior psychotherapist with over 28 years experience working with individuals, couples, groups and teams.
Harika adopts a practical proactive approach to bring fast relief and help clients move forward, together with a deeper dynamic approach to enable understanding of root cause to empower her clients toward lasting change.
Her ability to adapt therapy to meet the needs of each individual, ensures effective delivery to clients, placing their needs and priorities at the heart of every consultation.
Harika has helped both individuals and couples address a wide range of difficulties including: Depression, anxiety, stress, personal/professional development, career, relationship issues, Bereavement/ loss, life transitions, abuse, trauma and post traumatic stress, identity and self esteem, health issues, insomnia, fatigue, phobias, OCD, anger management, childhood and relationship issues, addiction, personality disorders, fertility/termination issues, bipolar and related issues, dissociative disorders, somatic disorders, mood disorders
Through her 25 years of clinical practice, Harika has worked in a range of settings including private practice. She has worked as a consultant psychotherapist for the Priory hospital working with patients pre, post and during hospitalization. She has also worked with the survivors of the Grenfell tragedy as a specialist trauma and bereavement therapist.
Harika held the role of Assistant Director at the Counselling in Primary Care Trust and lead on introducing counselling into NHS primary care. She has also lead on developing innovative programmes for research and the development of clinical professionals. She has worked with medical leadership groups at the King’s Fund (the UK’s medical think tank), providing personal and professional development programmes.
Alongside her extensive clinical experience and training, as a trained yoga teacher, Harika has an understanding of the power of the mind in relation to the body and she is able to bring a wealth of resources to help clients learn to deal with stress and develop resilience and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Training
Harika draws on a range of therapeutic models to help people reach their desired goals and fulfil their potential. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Bereavement Counselling, a Diploma in clinical Supervision for psychotherapists. She is an EMDR Trauma Therapist and has done additional Trauma focussed CBT and Integrated multi-modal CBT.
Harika is a qualified Psychotherapist accredited and registered with the UKCP.
