Improving Work, Anxiety and Relationships
Alice
I wasn’t in crisis when I came into therapy, but I wanted help to address some persistent issues that were affecting my work and family relationships. Many years’ ago I’d had a bad experience with therapy so I was hoping this would be different, and thankfully it was. Nishah put me at ease right from the beginning. I imagined therapy would be all very serious and maybe a bit stressful, but I actually looked forward to my sessions with Nishah! I found her to be curious, compassionate, and enthusiastic. At first I didn’t see the direct connection between some of the things we discussed in therapy and the problems I was seeking help for, but after just a handful of sessions (with some optional ‘homework’) I started noticing a big improvement in my anxiety levels and my relationships.
When I went into therapy I think I had an unconscious expectation that I could somehow fix every single personal flaw and avoid all negative emotions. I realised through my sessions with Nishah that that’s a completely unrealistic expectation – but what’s very realistic and achievable is gaining a deeper level of self-knowledge and self-acceptance. Nishah really helped me to understand myself better and reframe the way I thought and acted in certain circumstances, and this has had a positive impact on my life. I had about 6 or 7 sessions, which I view as a long-term investment in my happiness. I would recommend Nishah to anyone who’s looking to make some positive changes in their life.
